“I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me, with me in him, bears fruit in plenty; for cut off from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5
Dear Families,
I remember learning the words (and actions!) to the hymn His Banner Over Me is Love for my First Communion. The line that I recall the most, maybe due to the actions for this particular line, was “He is the vine and we are the branches”. I always pictured a grape vine with all the branches coming out of it and all the fruit that hang from the branches. The stronger the branches are, the more fruit it can hold. The fruit is like the blessings we reap. When our relationship with God, our vine, is strong, then we reap the many blessings. Maybe it’s because we are open to seeing the blessings and receiving them. Just as this Sunday’s Gospel states, when we are cut off from God, we cannot do anything. We need to remain in Him so that we can continue to receive the fruit.
In lieu of an A.G.M. this year, we will post information in the newsletter every week that pertains to the information we would have shared with you all that evening. Today, we are announcing the staff list for 2021-2022.
Prayer of Saint Francis de Sales for Times Such as These
“We shall steer safely through every storm, so long as our heart is right, our intention fervent, our courage steadfast, and our trust fixed on God. If at times we are somewhat stunned by the tempest, never fear. Let us take breath, and go on afresh.”
Yours In Christ,
Mrs. Maria Fonseca
