Weekly Update for St. Patrick’s School Community
Walk with Jesus Our Living Hope
September 25, 2020
Dear Families,
Last weekend, I had the privilege of attending the Upper Room Conference virtually. This annual conference is hosted by the Archdiocese of Vancouver and is a way to inspire and equip us to live in mission in our homes and our community.
We are all called to be disciples of God – each and everyone of you and your children. As primary educators of your children, you are called to be a witness for them. One of my take-aways from the conference was to ensure to carve out time to spend with my own children and witness with them, which can be difficult in the busyness of our everyday.
We are blessed with the dedicated staff we have at our school. They are sharing their faith everyday with our children through their words and actions. We start daily with staff prayer and it gives us a lift for the morning. It allows us to call on the Holy Spirit to be our guide as we start our day and I really believe that it trickles down to the classrooms as the students start their day. Our professional development this Monday is dedicated to our staff retreat. Our PEC chair, Eric Chow, will be our speaker and he will leading our staff to challenge them, equip them and inspire them to proclaim the name of Jesus.
Have a great weekend! God bless!
In Christ,
Mrs. Maria Fonseca

What’s New?
Please note that after school supervision is until 3:15 pm and will be reflected in the Parent Handbook.
Uniform
I have visited all the classrooms to talk to the students about proper uniforms. We discussed uniform infractions (attached below). It is the same one used in the past with just a slight addition for our temporary option.
On Gym days, we have temporarily allowed for warmer options. It has not been added as an official uniform piece so parents can purchase wherever they prefer.
PLEASE ENSURE THAT THE BLACK SWEATPANTS AND SWEATSHIRTS HAVE NO VISIBLE LOGOS OR DESIGNS. This includes words, sport teams logos, stripes, decorations, etc. They must be SOLID BLACK. (If the Logo on the sweatpants are close to the waistband and is not visible, they will be permitted). Students must wear their gym shirts with this option.
The best way to test the colour (so that we can ensure compliance) is that they match their gym shorts. No leggings please.
Students still need to have separate shoes for gym. The best option is to leave their gym shoes at school and come in their school shoes or outside shoes. If students are opting to have outside shoes, then they must bring their school shoes with them.
We would like to extend this option until the weather gets warmer again in the spring. Thank you for helping us out.

Wet Weather
In order to clean and sanitize the classrooms, we must allow the students to go outside for recess. Please ensure your child is ready for the weather– and in our climate, they are going to go outside in the rain.
Students are given a place to play for recess to allow for physical distancing between cohort, so your child may be playing on the field on rainy days.
Temporary Transition Students
Please make sure you bring back the folders to be used the following week.
If your child is returning to school for Oct 13, please let the office know by Oct 6 so we can prepare for their arrival.
Thank you!
Thank you for your donations on Terry Fox Day. We raised $327.30.
