Dear Parents,
Two important things for you to take note of:
1. We are asking all students to take home
all of their books over Spring Break. There are two reasons for
this. Firstly, it will allow for a proper deep clean of all the desks over the
Spring Break, and secondly, should we be informed that schools are closing
after Spring Break, we will provide students with their educational program electronically.
Please send a strong garbage bag with your child to school tomorrow so they can
take home all their books and belongings.
2. BC Provincial
Health Officer, Dr. Henry and Health Minister Dix announced today the following
information that directly concerns independent schools (https://youtu.be/f84BGlFvriU)
- Non-essential travel outside of Canada is not recommended and anyone choosing to travel outside of Canada (including to the United States) will be required to self-isolate for 14 days upon their return to Canada.
- Event organizers are directed to cancel any gathering of larger than 250 people. This includes school assemblies.
For the well-being of everyone in our school and parish community, I ask that you kindly follow the above request to self quarantine should you be traveling outside of Canada. Through being proactive, we can continue to keep our school a safe place for our staff and students. Teachers will make work available electronically for those students who are unable to return after Spring Break due to self quarantine. Please let me know if you are affected by this so that we know how many families will not be returning right after Spring Break. We plan to continue giving you updates over spring break as they become available to us. Thank you to those of you who have kept your children home due to illness, as well as to those of you who have contacted me directly with questions surrounding the current situation.
Kind regards,
Clive Heah | Principal
