Friday, October 18th PRO-D DAY – NO SCHOOL
- Thank you to all the parents who helped with Walk-a-thon this year! It was a wonderful day for all and we were so blessed with the weather! Please be reminded that collection continues next week and we ask you not to send money in before next Thursday, Oct. 17th. When you do send in your money, please send in the entire envelope, the pledge sheet and your money/checks. Thank you to all of our students that have worked so hard to raise money. Congratulations to the Kindergarten class who once again raised the most money this week!
- Please note that the Winter Dress Code takes effect on Tuesday, Oct. 15th. Students are expected to be in full dress code.
- Please ensure that you sign up for Parent Teacher Conferences if you have not yet done so Click here
- Please note next Friday’s Pro-D Day. I understand that Pro-D days can be challenging for parents, especially when there are a few very close to each other, as is the case this year. Please know that these dates were out of our control as they were set by C.I.S.V.A. (October 18th & Nov. 23rd), or they were the only date that could accommodate our request (First Aid on Nov. 8th). We also did not want to postpone our Parent Teacher Conferences as these need to happen sooner than later for your benefit. I do apologize if these dates have created a hardship for you. When possible we try and space them out better, but unfortunately this year it didn’t work out well.
- On October 31st, we will be having a “Celtic Day” – it is a Halloween colours (orange & black) dress down day and will be collecting items for the St. Vincent de Paul Society. They will use these items to assemble approximately 35 Christmas hampers. Items they are looking for include:
- Protein: canned tuna, canned salmon, canned chicken, canned chili, canned beans & peanut butter
- Other: coffee, tea, juices (lunch box and 1 Litre), cereal, oatmeal, granola, pancake mix, pancake syrup, pasta, rice, canned soups, canned fruit, canned vegetables, crackers, granola bars, jam, cookies, small bags of sugar, flour, small ketchup, small mustard, margarine & chocolates
- **If some families would prefer to donate cash, we would use it towards buying a turkey or ham, plus milk, eggs, fresh fruit and vegetables
