Where each child is encouraged to grow intellectually, physically, socially, aesthetically and above all, spiritually.
Grade 4 – Term 1:
During the first term, the students will develop their musical reading and recorder skills, learning the fingerings for B, A, G, and C. Through our non-directed listening program, they will continue to develop their listening skills, and show appreciation for different styles of music. Students will also begin to prepare for our Christmas musical by singing various songs of greater difficulty.

Grade 4 – Term 2:
During the second term, the students will work on vocal and dramatic skills in our Christmas Play. They will continue to develop their skills on the recorder, learning the fingerings for the notes C and D. The students will expand their theoretical knowledge in the areas of rhythmic counting, eighth notes and rests, and key signatures. In addition, the Grade Fours will continue to develop their listening skills through our non-directed listening program.

Grade 4 – Term 3
During the final term, the students will continue to develop their listening skills and music appreciation through our non-directed listening program. They will continue to develop their skills on the recorder, mastering the fingerings for A, B, C, D, G, and F#. Theoretical studies will include key signatures, dotted notes, time signatures (4/4 and 3/4), eighth notes and rests, and rhythmic counting.
