Dear Families,
On behalf of Father Matthew and the staff of St. Patrick’s School, I warmly welcome back families to a new school year! The staff has been busy preparing for your arrival. We hope your summer has been filled with new memories and time to enjoy each other’s company.
Please read this memo carefully as it contains a lot of pertinent information for the start of the school year.
First Day of school is on September 6, 2022. Students are to line up on the black top area where their grade is marked and their teacher will come out and greet them at 8:40. Dismissal on the first day is at noon.
Kindergarten families, please refer to your email from Mrs. Prinster regarding your specific times and gradual entry schedule.
Prayer for Students:
Dear Jesus, you who promise to be with me always, I pray that you would be with me today as I go to school. Bless my going and my coming. Bless my learning and my playing. Please protect my heart from fear. Please keep me safe. Please give me good friends. Give me joy this day, and thank you for loving me from head to toe. In your name.
Amen.
Yours In Christ,
Mrs. Maria Fonseca
Grade Six Class Lists
We are in the process of finalizing the class lists. These will be sent out to families early next week. Please keep in mind that many factors come into play when creating lists such as class composition and needs. This means that it is very difficult to make any changes without affecting the rest of the class.
Communicable Diseases Protocols
The school protocols remain much the same as when we left in June.
- Masks are no longer mandated but certainly students are welcome to wear them.
- Students with symptoms need to stay home.
- Students who test positive for Covid must follow all Provincial protocols and should stay away for 5 days and are no longer exhibiting symptoms or fever.
- The school will be continuing with our extended cleaning protocols.
- School Safety requirements will continue to be updated on the school website as the year progresses.
A more in depth document will be available next week and will be sent out to you.
School Supplies are Provided
The school supplies have been built into the student activity fee and the teachers have ordered for their classes. You are not receiving a supply list as there is nothing for you to purchase. If your child goes through their supplies quickly, you may be asked to replace certain items as needed throughout the year.
Appropriate School Shoes
Please ensure that your child has the proper shoes, as per the school policy.
Students require indoor, uniform shoes that are ALL black leather shoes, this includes laces, stitching and visible labels/logos. They cannot wear these outdoors. Doc Marten combat style boots are not permissible as indoor shoes. Permissible boots are ones that ONLY go slightly past the ankles (i.e. Blundstone boots).
Students also need gym runners that are used in PE classes and indoors when they are wearing their gym strip for the day. These shoes cannot be used as outdoor shoes.
Outdoor shoes can be any style and colour and should be weather appropriate.
