Dear Parents,
Please see the attached letter to parents from Education Minister, Rob Flemming. Our staff is working hard to put together an educational program for your children. You can expect to hear from your child(ren)’s teacher next week with information about schedule, communication, resources, etc. All school Principals will be having a meeting Monday morning, March 30th, at 9:00am with the Superintendents Office, and following this we will be having a school staff meeting where details will be discussed and final plans made. I ask you to continue to be patient and understanding during this challenging time. Please know that our aim is to provide your child(ren) with the best education we can, given the situation. We understand that a lot of responsibility lies on you as parents to be partners in this new method of delivery, and we thank you in advance for your efforts. No doubt this will be a challenge for many of you who will be juggling working from home and trying to guide your children with their schoolwork. We will do our best to support you as best as we can. Although we may not be present in person, we will all make ourselves available to you using the various means of technology available to us.
Two immediate items that require your attention:
1. If you and your spouse are both Essential Service Workers working in first response or in the medical field, and do not have childcare, please email me and let me know. We are willing to help you so that you can continue to help in the fight against COVID 19- Thank you for your courageous and dedicated service on the frontlines!
2. If your financial circumstances have changed significantly as a result of COVID 19 and you are unable to pay your tuition, please write to me and the Education Committee Chair, Mr. Eric Chow and we will work with you on an appropriate plan to defer whole or in part. We are here to help. We do not want anyone to withdraw from the school should they be unable to pay tuition. If you need to make such a request, please email before April 13, as tuition payments are processed that day. Email [email protected] and address your request to Mr. Clive Heah, Principal and Mr. Eric Chow, Chairperson.
Please take care of yourselves and your families and stay healthy. You are all in my prayers!
Kind regards,
Clive Heah | Principal St. Patrick’s School, Maple Ridge
